Latest Scams....
Are from "Larry Donald" or "Mark
Lampard" or "Matt Lee"
They pretend sometimes to have a hearing problem
so they cannot talk on the phone to you.
Every church that lists furniture on this site is
warned about scams.
Do
not respond to inquiries from anyone overseas,
including Great Brittan, Nigeria, or other
countries. There are scam artists who will
attempt to "buy" your pews and send you
an overpayment, supposedly to cover shipping. They
then ask you to send the overpayment to
their "shipper" in the US who will
supposedly come get the pews. Note the poor
use of the English language, and common greeting
"Goodday", or generic type wording.
Warning... they now are attempting to say they are
in the USA or Canada. but they are not.
Below is info on how to verify legitimate churches
in the USA and Canada.
The
"certified" or bank checks they send are
counterfeits.

Do
not, under any circumstances, give out your
bank account number or info for transfers of
money. You could lose everything in your
account!
The Latest Scam involves someone
buying pews for a Charity home (see below)
This
is a scam, and you should not respond to these
"buyers".
They
are commonly called 419 scams.

Many of these
scam attempts use poor English.
We
strongly suggest that all transactions on this
site should be between churches and
congregations,
missions, chapels, funeral homes, etc. in the USA
or Canada only,
unless
you personally know the people you are dealing
with overseas.
Another
scam is to contact your ministry or church and
offer a donation of a million or more - these are
ALL SCAMS! Do not respond to them!
How
to verify legitimate churches in the USA and
Canada:
Spend a moment or make a call and safe yourself
some grief!
-
Ask them for the normal info, name of church,
address, phone, website.
-
Go
to any telephone search engine (like
www.switchboard.com) and look them up.
-
Call them back on the number and see who
answers.
-
Type their church name and city into Google.
See what you get.
-
Ask them to verify by giving the name of their
Bishop, Administrator, Deacon, or similar.
Contact them and ask for verification.
Ask for directions to the church.
-
Ask for their denomination headquarters for the
area. Call them.
-
Contact the Chamber of Commerce in their town.
Ask them to verify the location.
-
Call someone in YOUR denomination in that area.
Ask them to drive by and see the church or meet
someone for you there.
-
Contact local authorities or Better Business
Bureau to verify info.

Use Common Sense
and Don't get misled by $$ signs!

as soon as you get this

"Vineyard Churches of Canada" name and this email:
vineyard_churches@yahoo.com. They are
not part of the Vineyard Churches in any way, but
are just using this name fraudulently.
